I bought and installed this product on the dash of my 18.5' open bow boat. I use the Garmin ETrex Vista, and so far have been impressed. I run my boat in the ICW as well as offshore in eastern NC. I was sceptical at first, anticipating excessive vibration with the GPS, but this product has surpassed my expectations. While traveling at over 35 kts, I have experienced very little vibration (able to read/adjust the GPS with no problem). Even in temperatures in excess of 95F, the permanent adhesive mount is still holding strong, with no signs of breaking loose. There is no rubber seal on the new battery cover like the one that came with my unit, but the windshield protects it from water. Have used it every weekend for 3 months with no problems. I have had this dash mount for several months, and am very happy with it. Several reviewers have complained that the adhesive is not adequate, but I have been using the temporary mount since day one, and it has never come loose. My dashboard is quite smooth, which may be necessary for good adhesion.

However, I want to use my eTrex in two cars, and cannot find an extra base for the second car. The only base at Amazon does not seem to be for this mount. None of the Garmin dealers around here have it either. -- Mount works great, but...

It's a great holder for my GPS.
However, the temporary stick mount doesn't hold up well after a couple of uses.
I don't always get the same van at work so I have to change the mount around.
